The company was founded in 1981 as Steve Gibby Productions, with the name changing to Cut4 Media Group in 1999. Through the years the company has been located in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and Las Vegas. We are now based near San Luis Obispo, on the beautiful Central Coast of California. We maintain editing facilities on the Central Coast, and in Los Angeles. From our current location we can travel quickly to Southern California, the Bay Area, or anywhere in the world.
We have worked worldwide, on every continent except Antarctica. Our specialty is placing small, affordable, highly mobile production crews anywhere in the world for any length of time. We shoot in cine-style and EFP style. Our usual subject areas of production are travel, sports, reality, nature, music, lifestyle, cultures, and documentaries. We also produce award-winning business media, including videos, web sites, and disk projects.
Steve Gibby, founder and president of Cut4 Media Group, is broadly experienced as an executive producer, producer, director, scriptwriter, editor, cinematographer, videographer, and photographer. He is also an experienced syndicator of television content, a consultant for the motion media industry, and a contributing writer for several media trade magazines. He is an Emmy-winning producer/director and cinematographer (regional), a yearly national Emmy Awards judge, and a former multi-term member of the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), Pacific Southwest Region. NATAS is the organization that originated and bestows the Emmy Awards, the most prestigious award in the television industry.
